The 31-year-old was subject to keen interest from Phil Brown's side, who are desperate to reinforce their panel before the league campaign gets underway in two weeks time.
The Tigers reportedly lodged a £3million bid for the ex-Blackburn striker this week, only for their efforts to be rejected by Gary Megson's side.
In the wake of Hull's bid, Megson expects the forward to commit his long-term future to Bolton.
Davies has been at the Reebok for five years, and has made more than 170 league appearances for the club.
Megson told Sky Sports News: "Kevin (Davies), I believe, in the next 24 to 48 hours will be signing a new deal to put another year on his contract."
