Raul: We Will Be Even Better This Season

Raul is excited about participating in a pre-season tournament that brings together top quality sides in Real Madrid, Arsenal, Hamburg and Juventus.
The striker believes playing teams of this caliber will show Real Madrid what "level" they are at after two weeks of pre-season work.
"This is one of the most important tournaments of the Summer. We have been training for fifteen days, and the tournament will show us the level we are at," stated the 31-year-old.
"The teams we will compete against are in better shape than us, but we will go into the tournament with the intention to win it playing good football. Most of all, to prepare for the Super Cup where we will be playing for our first title of the season, we want to enter it in the best possible condition," he explained.
Raul didn't respond to the questions asked by the English press about Cristiano Ronaldo, but he did comment on David Villa's possible swoop. "I like to play with the best players and Villa is one of them," he said.
The former Spanish international recalled that the last time Real Madrid faced Arsenal they were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League.
"It was a bad night because they eliminated us, but we arrive very motivated for this important competition because we will face two very important teams."
In relation to the upcoming season, Raul is confident that Real Madrid will "do things even better than last season" and he thinks the squad are prepared to win many titles.
"I see a very good squad. I think there is a great group both in terms of friendship and football. With this we can look to reach our objectives," he insisted.
"It is always difficult to win the Champions League because here there are the best teams and it is important to be focused in the important matches. One bad night can send you crashing out like what happened to us last year. Hopefully this year we can put all our effort into going as far as possible."
