Pedersen shocked Hull recently when he quit the club to return to his native Denmark, where he will embark on a third stint with Silkeborg.
The 33-year-old cited personal reasons for his unexpected departure and will no doubt be missed after playing a vital role in the Tigers’ first-ever promotion to the top tier of English football.
But the ex-Bolton man believes the Humberside club have the strength of will to overcome his absence and make a real splash on the big stage.
"It is always difficult for the promoted teams but the team spirit is there for sure," Pedersen told the Hull Daily Mail. "I know from my time at Bolton that if you've got a team where everyone works hard for each other, then you've got a chance of doing well.
"It's about enjoying the games against the big teams and if you can pick up points there, then it's just a bonus. It's against the lower teams and those around you where you need to pick up points the most.
"The gaffer has been in this situation before with Bolton and he knows what is required in the first season and what the players need to do."
